Some questions about vermicomposting

Is vermicomposting useful?Yes, because we can do vermicomposting for recycling garbage that is useless to us, and transform it into humus.

Which are the best worms for vermicomposting?
The two best worms for vermicomposting are the Californian worms and the Lumbricus rubellus.

How do you get worms?If you want you can go and search for worms in a field, a farm, etc. Or you can just buy them.

How Many Worms Do I Need?
If you have 0, 45 kilograms (450 grams) of food waste you should have around 2000 worms. If you don’t have many worms you should reduce food waste.

What food do worms need?
You can give worms this: Vegetable and fruit peels (that aren’t acid). You shouldn’t give them meat, plastic, glass.

How to prepare the bedding

Materials:

· Soil

· Fermented food

· Sand

· A bin

· A Spoon

· Dung

· Sticks

· Ashes

Steps:

· First add the ashes, dung and sticks.

· Then add soil and on top add sand.

· Then add the fermented food.

· Then add the worms.

· Then add a layer of straw.
